How to become a member of Service Corps SF

Thank you for your interest in Service Corps SF!

Service Corps’ annual membership drive starts in late fall and ends in February each year.

The process to apply starts with a current member sponsoring a new family to join by completing a Prospective Member Recommendation Form. This year, forms will be available in October, and due mid January 2025 (exact dates yet to be published).

If a mother and son(s) team would like to join but don’t know a current member, they may ask an organization to submit a sponsorship recommendation on their behalf. Typically, this would come from a philanthropy where they have been active or from a teacher that knows the son well. Please contact us to request an organization sponsorship recommendation form at scsf.vpmembership@gmail.com.

Next, new families will be invited to attend a Prospective Member Informational Meeting in January 2025.  Attendees will be sent an application to join the organization. Upon approval of the Board, invitations to join the organization will be sent out in March. The new membership year will begin on April 1, 2025.

If the number of applicants exceeds the number of open spaces, the Membership Committee will conduct a blind draw of applicants. Openings by class year are determined by current enrollment and the maximum class size as determined by the Board of Directors. Service Corps SF aims to have a balanced representation of schools.
